After a long summer-fall break we’re back talking Cybersecurity at the Palo Alto Club at the CyberMeetUp. This time we’ve shifted the time of the event to Tuesday, so come join us on October 17th at 18.00 either in person or online.

Since the spring of 2023 we invite the local Estonian cybersecurity community to discuss the threat landscape, the technology, upcoming initiatives and other projects in cybersecurity. This is a great place to find like-minded cybersecurity enthusiasts and a good excuse to get together with old colleagues and friends. The program is in English to make it more accessible to our friends who speak more cyber than Estonian.

Our format is such that the CyberMeetUp will feature an hour of speakers which will be broadcast live on Facebook and Youtube between 18 and 19. After that there will be time to hang out and network with your colleagues, partners and even competitors. And of course, after we finish at Palo Alto Club, there are always bars nearby to continue the cybersecurity discussions.

This October we’re focusing on Cybersecurity research and academia. Tartu University and Taltech partner in providing an excellent masters program in Cybersecurity, but they have many more research projects that they’re working on. So we invited professor of Information Security Raimundas Matulevicius from Tartu University and the new head of the Cybersecurity MSc programme, dr Adrian Venables at Taltech to tell us about what they do, which projects they oversee and how you can participate.

As always we have a recurring segment called “Threat Landscape”, where the head of Analysis and Prevention, Märt Hiietamm will discuss the threats we’ve seen over the summer.

So the agenda is as follows:

From the public sector to the private sector, from students to executives, this is a good place to find other people who think about these things all the time. (Plus, we have snacks and drinks!)
