Previously, it was only possible to specify your company’s email address on the state portal, to which notifications from the state were forwarded, but now, it is also possible to view the sent notifications and letters directly from your mailbox in the state portal.
‘Our aim was to make it as easy for businesses to receive letters as it is for private individuals. With all emails available in one place, no letter will be lost, for example, due to closing the mailbox of a departed employee or something getting caught in the spam filter,’ explains Asso Kasuk, product owner of the national mailbox at the State Portal eesti.ee Department of RIA.
Currently, entrepreneurs still see a small number of notifications on the state portal, as the system for storing them has only recently been put in place, but their number is sure to increase over time. ‘This is especially the case if the number of authorities sending notifications to businesses via the national mailbox also increases,’ said Kasuk.
This update is the first step on a longer journey, as there are plans to make the delivery of notifications even more convenient and customisable next year. For example, the plan is to consolidate notifications from as many authorities as possible as well as information on opportunities and obligations for businesses into the mailbox. You can also set the email address to which each notification is sent, and much more. ‘The main aim is to provide a mailbox for businesses that allows them to decide how they want to receive notifications from the state and to make the delivery of notifications as reliable as possible,’ said Kasuk.
