The change primarily affects information systems that use trusted lists to create or validate signatures, including the Digidoc4j and DSS libraries and the SiGa or SiVa software. This change will not affect end users of the DigiDoc4 and RIA DigiDoc applications, integrators of the libdigidocpp library, and users of the signing and validation services offered by the Information System Authority.
As part of the update, the trust anchors for the European trusted lists (LOTL) will also be updated. The new trust anchors were published on 15 April, and organisations have been able to start making the necessary changes to their information systems since then.
Related parties will have to adapt their information systems to the new technical version during the transitional period. All base libraries used in information systems must support the TLv6 format and trust the updated LOTL trust anchors.
If the necessary updates are not made, there may be errors in the creation and validation of digital signatures after 29 April. This, in turn, could mean that valid digital signatures are displayed to users as invalid.
The Information System Authority advises all affected parties to make the necessary updates as soon as possible during the transition period to ensure the uninterrupted operation of services.
More detailed information on the content of the changes, the affected parties, and the necessary actions can be found on the id.ee website. This publication will be updated regularly as new information becomes available.
