With the introduction of the new cards, a new trust service provider, Zetes, will also enter the market, becoming a qualified trust service provider starting from 20 October 2025. Zetes is responsible for creating certificates for ID cards with the new platform and managing the life cycle status of certificates. This means that information systems need to be able to support two trust service providers.
Zetes has also published the certificates of its live certification chain, and live LDAP and OCSP services are now available. It is time for service providers to make the necessary changes to ensure the electronic use of the new ID cards.
· The certificates of Zetes’ live certification chain can be found here: https://repository.eidpki.ee/crt/
· The live OCSP address of Zetes: http://ocsp.eidpki.ee
· The live LDAP address of Zetes: ldaps://ldap.eidpki.ee
RIA recommends checking the functionality of the systems in accordance with the new live services. Before the live services are launched, the operation of e-services should be tested using test cards. RIA will issue test cards until 14 November 2025.
To apply for a test card, an email should be sent to [email protected] with the following information:
· name of the company;
· names of the e-services and information systems to be tested;
· first and last name of the contact person;
· email address of the contact person;
· the number of desired Thales test cards;
· whether you would like a test card with a new profile (a test card with a new profile is necessary if you use the e-service of digital signatures without the Web eID solution).
The technical descriptions and specifications of all generations of ID cards can be found from the following website: www.id.ee/en/article/id-card-documentation-2/
RIA welcomes feedback from service providers at [email protected]. Please let us know if your information system works with the new ID card, and if not, what problems you are experiencing.
