The state portal www.eesti.ee has a new environment aimed at entrepreneurs, containing important company information and the most used services.

The website and self-service environment for entrepreneurs is one part of eesti.ee, which, in addition to the private person view, brings together all the important information and services that an entrepreneur needs to do business with the state – from the material needed to establish a company to the services that company accountants use on a daily basis to ensure the operation of the company.

For example, the state portal is the only environment where certificates of incapacity for work are forwarded today, and this service also ranks highest in usage statistics. In addition, entrepreneurs and company employees mainly use the environment for company and personal data inquiries, for making requests for holiday pay and average salary compensation, and for verifying notarial documents, traffic insurance history, and data.

In total, there are 30 different services in the environment for entrepreneurs, of which the most popular 15 have been transferred to the renewed blue portal. The remaining services will be transferred to the new platform within two weeks, i.e. by 13 December. RIA will close the old entrepreneur environment and with it the green portal for users on 19 December, after which the entire state portal will be available in the updated environment at www.eesti.ee.

What is new in the environment for entrepreneurs?

When an eesti.ee user logs in to the self-service of entrepreneurs, a new desktop opens for them, containing the main business data (e.g. name, registry code, field of activity code) of the company, the most used e-services, and the obligations of the company (including information on submitting the annual report, value added tax return, and reports).

After the transfer of all services to the new environment in mid-December, the self-service environment will also be supplemented with a data card, which contains references to the main activities and information intended for entrepreneurs in the country, among others obligations, financing opportunities, statistics, and network data for those wanting to enter foreign markets. Both the desktop and the data card are being developed to make them more proactive for both entrepreneurs and private persons. Today, the desktop contains universal information that the company must submit an annual report. In the near future, however, the environment will provide the entrepreneur with personalised information.

The future of eesti.ee

According to Kaisi Udumäe, Head of the State Portal Department, eesti.ee is an important centre for services and information that people need to communicate with the state and manage their affairs. ‘In the private person view, every user of the portal can view important information about themselves, for example documents, family, various benefits, health, and prescriptions. We remind all users to make sure that the personal data and contacts on the portal, including the email address, are up-to-date or updated, because this is the only way messages can reach the person through the national mailbox.’

Talking about the developments of eesti.ee, Udumäe says that the portal already has a single-sign-on capability, which means that the user only has to authenticate themselves once when using the self-service environments of state services. ‘Users will be able to enjoy this through the marriage event service at the beginning of the new year, when it will be possible to enter the population register to submit a marriage application from eesti.ee with a single authentication. The eesti.ee team is also conducting an analysis of the national mailbox in order to get an overview of the main problem areas and the needs of users, as well as to establish a more precise role of the mailbox.’

The environment of the state portal eesti.ee has nearly 10 million visits per year, and state agencies send more than a million notifications to people through the national mailbox. In total, the portal has 85 different services and 450 information articles that direct people to the right agency or service.

Companies Fujitsu, Nortal, Trinidad Wiseman, and Srini have helped RIA in updating the environment of the state portal eesti.ee. The total cost of the works is approximately 1.2 million euros and this financing has been supported by the Estonian state, the European Recovery and Resilience Facility and regional development funds.
